I'm new to the SEO business.
I'm wondering if getting more backlink from forum could help improve my websites' Page Rank or Traffic? How does it work? I'm doubting that backlink to forum discussion topic will only help improve the PR and traffic of the forum...

Two ways backlinks can help get traffic from forums
First if your forum contributions are interesting and you get a good reputation in the forum then people may click on the lnk in your signature Second if the forum uses do follow in their links then it could help your SEO |

So.. to get GOOGLE AUTHORITY:
We need to look at 3 aspects: (1) Page Rank (2) Keyword Authority (3) Keyword Optimization Just in case you don't know.. Keyword Authority is built from (1) Keyword Optimization (2) Relevance of backlinks Bare this in mind, irrelevant links may help with PR but definitely not with Keyword Authority (please google it if you don't know). You can get your backlinks through social bookmarking. There's a semi-automated site that can help you to submit links to social bookmarks sites www.socialposter.com when you get in there, make sure you do this: - use GENERAL LIST - register in every social bookmark site first - avoid blogger.com and squidoo.com (as they will require you to write an article) - avoid social bookmark site that has no relevance to you site so that you won't be viewed as spam (relevant site can increase your keyword authority) **NEVER NEVER submit the same link to the same social bookmark site to avoid get banned You can check how many backlinks you get at YAHOO "linkdomain=http://YourWebSite.com" (why not google? Google does not update the backlinks data as frequent as yahoo, so the result might not be that accurate) Alright, I hope that helps. To your success, Felice |
