Seems that there are more affiliate referral transactions in these hard times, as Merchants are looking towards more cost effective methods to generate more sales, by starting or focusing on their affiliate programs.

Affiliate Marketing does not get affected by the economy downturn. In fact, it has a very healthy growth this year. More and more people get to shop online now. And most of the products offer online are cheaper than the items sold in the store. Why would they shop offline?

So, As long as you don't give up on affiliate marketing, you sure can make money!
