Default RSS in a nutshell
RSS is a web feed format used to publish digital content. The initial "RSS" are variously used to refer to the following standards:
  • Really Simple Syndication
  • Rich Site Summary
  • RDF Site Summary
RSS formats are specified in XML. It delivers its information as an XML file called an "RSS feed," "webfeed," "RSS stream," or "RSS channel".

In addition to what Roman had posted, webmasters create an RSS file containing headlines and descriptions of specific information. While the majority of RSS feeds currently contain news headlines or breaking information the long term uses of RSS are broad.

RSS is a defined standard based on XML with the specific purpose of delivering updates to web-based content. Using this standard, webmasters provide headlines and fresh content in a succinct manner. Meanwhile, consumers use RSS readers and news aggregators to collect and monitor their favorite feeds in one centralized program or location. Content viewed in the RSS reader or news aggregator is place known as an RSS feed.

RSS is becoming increasingly popular. The reason is fairly simple. RSS is a free and easy way to promote a site and its content without the need to advertise or create complicated content sharing partnerships.

I have been looking for a wy to convert csv files to rss/xml files.

Any ideas on what the best way to do that is?

Very useful information on rss feeds. But can anybody say how to make a rss feed, like suppose if I have a blog how to get its rss feed?

Creating an rss guides are everywhere like this rss guide. Or visit all the softpedia, download.com, sites and get the software that generates the rss feed. Some blogging systems, auto generates it for you, like wordpress.

There are about 8 million RSS feeds coursing through cyberspace, everything from "kids' blogs to the Wall Street Journal.NewsGator offers a better way of keeping on top of this deluge of information.
