Default Network advantages for affiliates

Reasons affiliates may want to sign-up with merchants under a network compared to independant merchants.

1) Networks offers consolidated tracking and payment. The more independant merchants an affiliate signs up with, the more work is needed, the more time spent.

2) Concern for reliability and credibility. Since Independant merchants vary in experience & reliability, with no one to qualify their terms & conditions, affiliates may be wary and cautious.

3) Knowing that during a conflict, complaint, or grievences, independant merchants holds all the power.

When you join a network, you have several programs to choose from, not just one particular product. It would be more beneficial for you if your site has a wide target audience and you can promote several products on your site. The good thing is you only have to deal with one network. Whereas if you join several independent merchants, it could be confusing to take note of all terms and conditions for various merchants.

You're right Andrea. Also, in a network, your questions and concerns are attended by specific Affiliate Manager assigned to each program. More often than not, most networks assign one or more Affiliate Managers for each program to better serve its affiliates.

If used properly you can always harness the advantages of a network to yield a mximum output for yourself . These days, research on how people are advertising shows that things are dramatically changing; more and more companies are putting ads on the internet through the search engines. Google and Yahoo have become so successful (and wealthy) not because they offer all that free stuff, but because so many millions of people access them, find ads, click on the ads and go to businesses that are there. This makes revenue for these companies. To have an ad on the internet usually means to have a website or presence on the internet.
