Default Indexing Sites

SEO is all about optimizing our sites to make it searchable and more viewable to Search Engines--topping Search Engine Results Pages for a particular keyword.Yet, this won't be possible without having our sites indexed to these Search Engines.

Indexing sites takes for as fast as a day to as slow as several months. In my experience, I think it took a week or two for my newly registered site to get indexed to Google. However, it took quicker to Yahoo to get it indexed. But, others are having a hard time getting their sites or pages indexed.

Here are the following guidelines on how to check if your site is indexable by search engine or not:

* Superfluous JS scripts or all-flash sites. Search Engine Spiders aren't capable of reading these scripts. So, it'll take a lot of time for such script laden sites to get indexed.

Remedy: try embedding a readable or text version of your site using the tag.

* Frames. SE can hardly read pages/info inside frames.

Remedy: Remedy: try embedding a readable or text version of your framed page using the tag.

* Robots.txt. This is mostly the culprit on why your site hasn't been indexed. It indicates a folder or directly which mustn't be indexed by SE Spiders.

Remedy: check your robots.txt file. If you've seen the ff:

Disallow: *.* /folder or page here/

Remove it.

* Server Down or Webpage Unavailable. Be sure to have an index page. And make it sure that it's available Online.

* Spammy Contents/Webpage Banned. Your site may not be adhering to SE policies which in turn, been banned by search engines.

Remedy: Try contacting Search Engines for reinclusion request.
