Default GetMyWebSite - FAQs

Question: Do the sites support flash?

Answer: Yes. On any of your pages using the WebXLcreator in html mode you can enter your custom flash code into your site.

Question: I have already created pages but would like to rearrage through the menu system. Is that possible?

Answer: Yes, Once you have your pages created they don't have to be active to call them. Where ever they reside in the page heirachy they can be set to be Not Active and then called via the Navigation page type from some other location.

Question: How do I get rid of my Coming Soon Page?

Answer: From your Administration area, select Site Settings. From this page you will see a button for site status. Click the Live status and then the submit button at the bottom of the form.

Question: On every page I create I get the option of Password Protect or Login Required. What is the difference?

Answer: The password protection is a general password that you can add to your password table and give it out to multiple people (or just one if you want). If the page is password protected the correct password would have to be entered before entering the page. A password protected page shows as a menu item prior to the password being entered. A login required works with your Login page type that you would have selected. Typically a login would be for an individual user, however could also match up to a household if appropriate for Home Owner Association web sites. Pages that require a login do not show up for selection until the user has logged in. With that in mind you are essentially creating an intranet with the available content changing based on whether they are a registered user or not. Additionally, the Directory Manager will create a login record when added to the 'Member' Directory Type (Employee for Business Sites). Using this feature allows the logged in user to create their own personalized web page from within the Directory.
