Default what's a decent amount to pay for a website?

Can anyone advise me on the approximate amount to pay for building an e-commerce website? With animation and a link to a blog, shopping cart, credit card payment as well as pay pal option. And what is a reasonable amount to pay for maintaining the site every month?

Hi Cathy!

The price of building a site depends on several things: the number of domains, the disk space, the number of pop-up email accounts and the features you want to include. The price ranges from $40-$50 per month based on one of the site I visited. Websites of these prices include Internet store builder, product catalog which can include more than 100 products, unlimited pages, secure checkout, integrated shopping cart, shipping calculator and e-commerce tracking.

Also, the cost doesn't end there. You have to register your domain name which can be approximately $14 per year.

It really depends upon the type of website you want and the size of your website . Everyone wants value for money; by working in partnership with website builders and planning as much as you can before the design process begins you can save time and money.A builder couldn’t give you a quote on a new office block until they had some plans to work from.A website is an ongoing resource; it's available to anyone (with computer access) all day, every day; there’s no distribution costs and keeping it up to date costs a fraction of the price of updating and printing a brochure.
