Jeez, I'd hate to abandon this thread and this forum because of the spam. Could you spam guys pollute the other threads, not this one.

Burton, that was a helluva improvement. Great review. I give it 4 stars out of 5.

I think you did a great job with the keyword placements, I just think though that it could be toned down a bit. One important rule when writing content is that you write your content for PEOPLE and NOT search engines.

What you could do is read it out aloud after you're done writing it and see how it sounds. Remember the search engines won't buy your golf book but a golfer looking to "break 80" will.

So while its a good thing to get your keyword in there every chance you get, you should try to do it without overdoing it ie its ok to just say "the system" sometimes.

My point is, try to find a balance between pleasing the search engines and giving people valuable content.

Anyway, you did an excellent job.

Jay

Well I just got back from a all of sudden vacation with my lady . So I haven't really done much work the last week . I do already have my site almost done with all the content im just kinda putting it all together. I plan to finish all this weekend and then im gonna pay the 30 bucks to get my own custom domain for it and hosting on weebly . I think Im actually gonna start off with doing about 15-20 articles before I jump into the adwords idea.

I did have a question I was thinking about though, on the social networking sites. How exactly do you promote the niche you are trying to make sales on through social bookmarking sites? I have a myspace and facebook and twitter I just dont know exactly how to use them to market?

I think you should try to master one technique at a time. Its better to know a lot of one thing than to know a little about everything.

What I'm saying is, if you're going to master PPC then Myspace, Facebook and Twitter promotions shouldn't be bothered with. If you're going the free advertising route then try to master SEO and article marketing. Then you could always move on to these other types of advertising methods.

Hope you had a great vacation.

Ok, I get what your saying . That way I don't overwhelm myself with to much information and then it all ends up being worthless. Well the route I'm definitely going to take then for now is the article marketing and SEO. Until I start making some money then I can progress from there.

I'm going to make sure I finish my site to get all going by the end of this weekend, if not beginning of next week at the latest. I think it looks pretty good for my first site anyways. I put in there other articles on helping people with there golf swing and also some videos in addition to the reviews. Hopefully that will improve my rankings a little better then with just the reviews.

My vacation was awesome by the way , thanks for asking. We went up to the Oregon coast over in Seaside and just had a chill relaxing time .. I definitely needed it . Now I'm all fresh and ready to make some mulah!!

Ill talk to you soon

Just wanted to give a quick update . I have my site pretty much all done , im just putting in all the keywords and hyperlinks to my hoplinks and stuff like that. I've been really busy at work so I haven't had much time. But I will have a link to my site for you to check out by friday. I can't wait till I can start making enough to quit my job so I can do this full time. I actually have a good time doing all this internet marketing, so it's about time Ill have a job I can actually enjoy doing for once.

I was wondering though , since Im going to be using article marketing . Is it worth it to pay for those sites that will submit your articles to like 100 + directories or should I just be going with the main ones like ezine, article dashboard ,articlebase ,buzzle and go articles ? Also how many good articles do you think i need to write to start getting a decent amount of traffic to make sales ?

I don't think you should pay those sites to submit to directories. There are some pretty shady people out there and I don't think you should risk the money right now.

If you want to submit to directories, get a list of directory sites and pay a friend or family member to do the work for you. To me these sites might not even be worth your time right now since some/many of them take up to 6 months to include the link. Much faster and easier results if you do article site submissions (Ezinearticles, Goarticles etc.)

As for how many articles to get good traffic? It depends on the keywords you're using. You need sales at the moment and the best keywords to go for are targeted long tailed keywords which won't give you as much traffic but they will be better for sales. Best to have 100 keywords that generates 10 visitors per month each and gets you 1 each sale than to have 1 keyword that generates 1000 visitors and get only 1 sale.

So in regards to the how many articles to write, I should be focusing each article on one specific long tail keyword specifically focused on getting a conversion ?

That would be the best option. Traffic that doesn't convert is useless...especially when you're paying for it. Since you're doing article marketing you really don't have to worry about that cost but you still want conversions.

Great article with some good tips. We have experienced an increase in traffic recently but I think that can be increased using the tips that are outlined above.

Thought I'd fix the link for you. Its ok if you link to it. This thread is for learning purposes so they won't get you for spam or anything.

I checked it out and you know what?

That is a great site after all!

There are things that need ironing out but this is a brilliant first try.

Some things you can try fixing right now
  • Get the adsense ads to fit the width of the site.
  • Break up the intro text into readable size pieces.
  • Keep the font size and type the same throughout
  • Link your pictures to the merchant page using your affiliate link.

We'll keep working on it, tweaking it and getting it better.

Just a sidenote to anyone following along, you don't need to be perfect, you just need to get started. So if that's what's keeping you from writing your first article, or setting up your first site, or doing that blog, just remember it doesn't have to be perfect, it doesn't have to impress anyone, it just has to be done or you won't get anywhere.

Niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiicccccceeeee!!! I was hoping you would say that!! Ill do those things you said to do with it for now. Then I can progress from there. Do you think I need to put more targeted keywords in there ? Like in the extra articles I put in, or in my welcome message to get better SEO ...

Those areas are fine. I just think you need to tweak the appearance a bit. Maybe proofread the reviews for grammatical errors and what's with the big click here/download buttons?

haha I know those things are ridiculously HUGE!! Ill put some different ones in there a bit smaller. I was just trying to draw some attention and get people to click on the sales page, which I'm sure they will do without the huge buttons. I did all the things you said to tweak it a bit. So ill get some smaller click here buttons and then I'm gonna start writing some articles and see what happens.

What else can I do besides writing articles to get traffic for now? Or should I just stick mainly to the articles for now until I get that mastered and start making some sales with them?

Whatever you do you need to have uniformity on your site. So stick with one button for each page. The best way to do it a solo call to action link. Its a big, underlined link at the bottom of the review that says whatever your call to action is. This usually works well and looks great without compromising the look and feel of your site. You should probably go this route instead of the buttons. Another reason to use these solo call to action links instead of the buttons is because a button is an image which may slow down the loading of your site.

To get traffic to your site, you can do some article marketing on other sites which will also help your sites SEO through backlinking. Participating on golf blogs, golf forums and even golf social networking sites are great ways to begin getting links and traffic without having to do articles.

Looks great that way. Fix the adsense ads though.
