Default How do you select programs to market?

I suppose the obvious answer would be "Depends on what your site is about", but there has to be more to it than that. Does the amount of commission make a big difference, as in a couple of threads below? Should you select popular products, those tried and true but with heaps of competition? Or should you look towards the bottom of the list for programs that haven't been taken to their full potential?

How much research do you to before you market a product? Do you request samples (from those merchants smart enough to use a recent suggestion from this forum), or do you purchase your own product to make sure the merchant is trustworthy?

So many questions

You're right, there are indeed so many questions. That's what this forum is for, to guide and help one another to achieve our affiliate marketing goals.

I'd like to consider your point of view, to look towards the bottom of the list for programs that have not been given enough attention. But why are these programs found at the bottom of the list? Are they not marketable? It's often told that those at the top stay at the top. We should give the underdogs a chance.

There's no risk involved here. Most often, joining affiliate programs is free. I suggest people give the less promoted programs a chance. It might be a gold mine waiting to be discovered. Aside from the fact that there is less competition, they might have a special offer to encourage people to join them.

I agree with you Andrea! Why don't give those less promoted programs a chance. You might just find the perfect and awesome affiliate programs you have ever seen.

Hi Psyche18!

Commission rates make a big difference in choosing programs to promote. After all, what's the use of making business if not to earn the big bucks, right? Programs that offer commission rates of 20-25% per sale are ideal. Such of those excellent programs are eDimensional and TVDVDLand.

Hi so what about an affiliate program where you would promote a rebranded report is this a good program to get into. I am fairly new and would like to test the waters. I got an email today as i am on everybody's list claiming i could get rebranding rights and a free website that gives full video tutorials on how to rebrand report and earn 1st and 2nd tier sales can you have a look at this and advise.

hi there..

psyche8.. not at all.. it doesn't depend on what your website is all about..
it depends on WHAT THE MARKET WANTS.

See.. like.. it's near to Mother's Day Now.

So.. what do you think what the market wants?

Flowers for mum.. chocolates.. jewelries maybe..

And those programs are available in affiliatebot.. GO FOR IT!

What if your blog isn't like that?

Well.. that's why.. you need to make even more blogs!
If possible, do it for every niche you find!
you don't really need to update them too much.
sometimes will do.

when you find a new product.. just write something about it
inside your blog.

that's it!

and then.. the problem will be to drive traffic to your
blog..

that's the hard part..

doing some article marketing, targeting on less searched, highly targeted long-tail keywords will be good as your articles will be able
to get to front page and at the same time reach some VERY
HIGH TARGETED people (which would highly probably to convert to sales).

and.. if you have the xperience/knowledge.. learn about ppc advertising..
not really recommended now though if you're not knowledgeable about
it as you'll kinda get money burnt out if you're not careful/don't know what you're doing.

well.. if you have some list.. well, obviously.. just email to them

so.. good luck!

Go do your stuffs!

Well there can be many reasons , besides the money you will be getting . If the program is only sharing a few percent of the sale, then you’re never going to generate good commissions. You’re going to earn a tiny fraction of what you could with a more generous program. The question you should ask yourself is, Why earn a few cents or dollars, when you can easily be earning hundreds or thousands with a more generous program , so that is the main concern with me .
