Default I'm having trouble with email spam

I'm having trouble with email spam. Often than not, my valid mail goes to the bulk folder and I don't have to sort through hundreds of junk mail. I can't risk not getting mail from my contacts. Do you guys know an effective way to fight spam? I'm thinking of trying spamarrest or migrating to gmail.

First thing to do (but not guaranteed effective) is to report it to your email account provider - that way they can "improve" with their service.

Second option - if you're using free email account - you could always upgrade. That way you have all the rights to complain to them. lolz! Actually, poor spam filter is how email account providers sell their paid subscription. Imagine your free account working perfectly well, there'd be no use for an upgrade.

If you are willing to pay for one, you may install an Internet spam filter. These can be availed usually less than $50. Although one or two spam messages still may slip through the cracks, these filters can cut back dramatically the spam that will find its way to your inbox.

Never ever give your email address on just about any website that you come across . Keep a personal mail persoal only . Unfortunately, many of us now spend so much time filtering and deleting spam that our biggest concern has become that we not lose messages we really want. Use a separate email address when you post messages to any public forum, such as newsgroups and mailing lists. Never use your personal email address for this purpose -- or you'll be flooded with spam. Then, you can quickly go through the email in this account to see what's spam and what isn't. And your main personal email address won't be as clogged with spam.
