Niche marketing has become very popular. This is caused by more competition in general markets. But how do you find a profitable niche for your website?

These are few of the many resources:

1. Google Keyword Tool. This tool is very powerful and can help you determine which keywords are profitable and which aren’t. With Google Keyword Tool you can look up global search volume trends and find out if your niche is developing.

2. Research keyword popularity and advertisers competition within Google Adwords.

3. WordTracker. Wordtracker gets their results from StatMarket.com. You can find more accurate data related to keyword popularity using this tool. WordTracker also gives you the ability to dig in into more in depth keyword phrases which is crucial with niche marketing.

4. Good Keywords Software. It’s not as powerful as Wordtracker but it has some excellent features as well.

The above tools are the ones popular but of course you may still use other useful resources which you find fitting with your specifications and needs.

What about if you go buy some mags.. And see what's HOT in the market right now..

Maybe searching for e-zines websites and forums.. and see what are people talking about.. Maybe even what stuffs are they thinking/discussing of buying..

About finding a good niche , I have read a good tip or trick as you may call it . somewhere . Test your keywords to assess the demand for them. Run your keywords, one at a time, through a search engine or assessment tool. An assessment tool will tell you how many websites are listed when each keyword is searched and how many times it has been used in a search. You really want keywords that are high in demand, but low in supply. In other words, there are a lot of people searching the keywords, but there are not many websites that offer information on that particular keyword .
