Default What is the difference between joining In-house and Network Affiliate Program?

I was recently asked by a publisher what is the difference between signing up in an in-house affiliate program and a network affiliate program. I gave the honest to goodness reply which basically enumerates the benefits of an affiliate network and I would like to share in this forum for discussion. (I hope I would not sound biased so I would welcome comments from the pro in-house programs.)

These are the advantages of going through an affiliate network:

- Networks are a value-added intermediary providing services one-stop solution for aggregation, distribution of creative materials, and campaign performance tracking/reporting, for affiliate merchants and affiliates.
- Some networks like AffiliateBOT provide better affiliate support as affiliate manager like me will assist you personally.
- Networks provide consolidated payment processing for the programs that you are joined to.
- Networks also collate various discounts and coupon offers from their merchants.
- Networks provide you a wide range of programs to choose from with new programs probably added every week.
- Most network services are FREE.
- If you have several programs that you are promoting it is likely that you will be dealing with several direct merchants. I can imagine how time consuming it is to be dealing with several accounts just for each of the program transaction.

This reply is rather compartamentalized so maybe you guys can give more input and probably your opinion on the matter. I decided to have poll as well on this issue which I hope you would participate to as well.

Yup, definitely go with the network. Especially AffiliateBOT (if I may toot my own horn?)

At networks such as AffiliateBOT, you get your payments sent worldwide thru local checks as well as paypal options.

So, if you find a merchant you want to promote why not ask them to join Affiliatebot?

Remember, AffiliateBOT is:
  • Parasitefilliates Free - resulting in zero stolen profits
  • Great Support
  • Friendly Affiliate Managers
  • Better Affiliate Tools and Software
  • Guaranteed Payments

Well I think in-house is the more popular method . Affiliate marketing services are not very expensive. There are different packages to suit every company's budget. Most of the big companies prefer to run such programs in-house. But middle- and small-level entities often outsource this job to an affiliate marketing service.Though I do think that network has more advantages , but there are so many which are smaller in size and benefit from working the other way around .
