Default Online Holiday Shopping Rising in Economic Downturn
Just read a report by Research and Markets. It seems that eMarketer estimates that online holiday sales are going to grow by 10% compared to 2007. Up to $32 billion in sales. They have an Online Holiday Shopping 2008 Preview Report which analyzes the effects of the economic downturn on retailers during this period.

Did you know that online retailers are actually optimistic in times of economic distress. This is because, consumers are looking to save more money on holiday gifts. They'll turn to sites with gift guides, discounts and bargains and to better locate specific products that they're searching for, search online.

Because of Free Shipping Deals, consumers also benefit from saving gas money and have the gifts delivered directly.
