How frequently site content should be updated?

Hi Friends,

As I heard apart from link buildings and keywords, Google need content of site should be updated regularly.
What is strategy for updated content?
Do we need to add extra pages?
Extra pages can increase rank for existing pages?
Do we need to add more content in existing pages after regular interval?
How frequently existing pages should be updated?
Please provide all advise related to updating content for site on regular interval.

If it is a blog then I would say everyday but if you cannot invest the time then at least three times a week

With traditional sites, I try to add new content every now and then but I am not very disciplined with this but my sites don't seem to have suffered as a result

But when I say update, I mean adding new pages or new posts

I hardly ever change the content on my pages that are already ranking well

Sometimes you do not really need to update a page frequently if the keywords are not that competitive.

If you are in a competitive market, even a simply blog will help.

Do it on a regular basis. Pick an schedule for updating/adding to the site and try to stick to it. You optimize the site for the SE and create content for products and services for your visitors.

You can easily build quality links by writing articles and submit them to article directories. Doing this everyday can easily give enough backlinks and traffic for your blog.

Updating content frequently cause to cache frequently.. this effecting in all places of SEO.. Update as much u can is better .. daily is better.. but should keep the targeted keywords
