Selling your made things

some time ago I read an excellent that told the bloggers to sell their skills through blogs for earning extra bucks online . Now , i thought for example if a person is well versed with something like photoshop , then he can surely start a blog on that and put up some interesting tips and tricks and even tutorials , provided they are original , side by side he can use it to sell his own made brushes , or offer services like banner making , template design etc .
Doesn't that sound a cool idea ?
