Default Online Casino Affiliate Market- is it worth the risk?

I have opened a similar thread in another forum and I saw some good responses, clarifications and issues about the topic. I wonder if I can get some additional input from you guys in this forum.

This is what I have gathered so far:

1. The U.S. Congress passed the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act last Sept 2006. However the law seems to confuse many in the industry as to the status of USA online gambling, existing accounts they may have with sites that offer USA online gambling, and where they are able to play.

2. This new legislations does not make online gambling in the USA illegal. The act is aimed at blocking financial transactions related to gambling.

3. However, USA online gambling operators (sportsbooks, online casino and online poker rooms) are taking very different actions. Some have completely stopped taking bets, some are restricting certain states, and for others it is business as usual.

4. There is a growing impression that US Online Casino industry will be thriving in a few years with home grown online casinos - that is US owned and operated. So those in affiliate marketing for these online casinos may be in a good position to make a push sometime soon.

What do you feel about the issue? Is it worth to hold on to anything you got or did before the US ban?

its sad that online casino gaming is restricted nowadays in US. I stayed in US for almost a year and knowing their lifestyles, I can say that they work almost half of their lives. Online casino is a convenient way of relaxing from a very stressful job. Imagine, you can actually have fun and relax at the comfort of your home.

Hmm.. not sure. With the capricious nature of the US laws enforcement, it's quite risky. When you hear about CEOs of multi-nationals being arrested upon arrival on US soil, it sends a chill down your spine.

I say stay away from it until the American Courts can decide one way or another.

Well , if it doesnot make the online gambling illegal then what is wrong with it . But though with the resrictions on the money transactions on it , there may be a frustration among the casino owners . What kind of restrictions it has put up ? Better still , it is legal there , here in many countries in asia it is illegal . people want to have online casinos but the law prohibits .

Default USA Online Gambling Industry

Since the law was passed in 2006 the casino affiliate programs have been trying to restructure their business because very few anticipated the law would be passed. Some have dropped out of the business and have sold their casinos to other gambling networks. The good news is it seems to have finally settled down.

There is still an air of confusion as you kindly pointed out with some online casinos accepting US players, others accepting them from certain states while the bigger casinos do not accept any gambler residing in the US.

Some affiliate managers have contacted me and the feeling is the law may change again though not in the near future. This uncertainty has put many affiliates off and some have moved over to new industries. Those affiliates who promote to the new emerging gambling markets especially Europe are reaping the benefits.

There is still lots of money to be made as a gambling affiliate though you need to target news markets.

Regardsless, I think online gambling is the dumbest thing to do. With the webmasters and programmers controlling everything, you might as well have handed your money to them on a silver platter.
