Vegas cannot defeat the web
The actual reason behind this crackdown is because of tax revenue. The US government rakes in billions in tax revenue from gambling mecca's like Vegas,Reno and Atlantic City. Most online gambling sites are from Europe.
If you allow that revenue stream to just flow out not only will the US government lose tax income but there will also be a drain of ouflowing currency going offshore. They cannot really stem this outflow so they have to resort to primitive ways to punish those only wish to compete in this competitive industry.
The policing days of the US government are over because as soon as you arrest one person another will surely take his place. Makes you wonder if the term free market economy really exists and if it does who does it really serve.
