Default Does SEO scare you?

Maybe you are a newbie to this "search engine optimization" and wish to SEO your Web site. Unfortunately, there is so much jargon about this and on top of it, the SEO experts are hardly helpful, but instead make things look too difficult or complex.

Before, you give up or spend time and money on other resources, take a look at the following:

1. Search engine optimization is too difficult for non-technical people. There is so much to learn and it takes too long!

Though, it may look complicated at first, but as with any subject, start with the basics and then go to the complex portion, just like a child does at school.

In fact, the basics of a good search engine optimization strategy will equip you with what you need to make your site succeed in the search listings.

"Nothing was build in a day and practice makes a man perfect". So, with patience you can overcome your fear.

-- Start with the basics and put it in practice
-- Perfect one method before going to the next method

Moreover, keep the following in mind:

You have taken pains to develop and design your web site. So, what shall be the use, if you do not get any returns?

Hence, you need to have a different point of view when writing your content, creating your source code, and designing your site’s look. Therefore, spending more time to optimize your site for your visitors and the search engines, you are only helping yourself.

2. There are numerous site engines out there and how do I submit or do it?

Most SEO companies try to frighten or fool the users into thinking that submission is a tedious and complicated job, which is not so.

You need to submit to a few search engines (yahoo, Google) and directory sites, only.

3. My site is too big and it is not possible to do it all alone.

Remember, "Patience is bitter, but its fruits are sweet" and "Rome was not built in a day".

Have patience and do things step by step. Take a web page at a time and do it properly. Focus on your most popular pages first to see what they need, and then keep the SEO core concepts in mind as you create new pages.

Since, each page can be a possible doorway into your site, meaning that "every single page can be your invitation to a potential customer or user."

4. Meta tags are the most important part of search engine optimization.

Meta tags, such as keyword, title, and description tags, are informational HTML tags in the head section of website pages that search engine spiders use as part of their indexing strategy.

However, they are not the most important part of optimizing your site, but only a part of a successful search engine optimization strategy.

5. I need doorway pages, keyword stuffing, and other tricks to get high rankings.

Doorways, cloaked pages, keyword stuffing are all part of what is known as "black hat SEO".

This is an unethical method and not acceptable and your site can get banned too.

6. I can get to the Top Ten on any search engine in a very short period of time.

Search engine optimization is all about patience and lots of hard work.

The old adage "if you build it, they will come" applies especially in the realm of optimizing your site, because once you create a viable Web site that gives searchers what they are looking for, more traffic naturally will follow.

So, the first priority should not be to get a good or high ranking, but to look after your customers who shall help your site in the long run.

7. I don’t need SEO. I’m already doing well in the search engines.

As, "Change is constant". So, your site might do well now, but later on it can fail due to other sites coming up with better SEO techniques and beating you in the ranking.

Remember that good search engine optimization is an ongoing, never-ending process. There’s always something that could be tweaked, optimized, or revamped.
