Default Parasitefilliates - our CEO says No!

Parasitefilliates
Parasite + Affiliate

In AffiliateBOT's mission to maintain one of the cleanest Affiliate Networks in the world, our CEO, Ezer Ratchaga has even coined the word: Parasitefilliate to refer to affiliates who are not playing fair.

So, what is a parasitefilliate, exactly? you may wonder at this point...

Let's not use euphemism in this matter. Parasite is a mess. It's not only unethical, it is a scam, a way to steal money and revenue from honest affiliates. It doesn't only mess up affiliates, it is also punitive to merchants (merchant pays for misleading, fraudulent commissions).

If you are a veteran Affiliate, you probably know what parasites mean and how they can steal your hard earned money. There are some affiliates who utilize means that are considered bad-practices in the affiliate community which may include cookie stuffing (utilizing pop-unders or other software means to artificially replace everyone's affiliate tracking cookies with their own), to BHO (Browser Hijacking Objects).

And the command has come down from the top: Stop Parasitefilliates from invading the AffiliateBOT network.

So, share your comments on this matter and what you think of affiliates that are not playing fair and would you promote programs from merchants or networks that are not taking serious actions on this matter?

Parasitefilliates can:
  • Steal other affiliate's hard earned commissions
  • Get paid for non-commissionable actions (software can automatically add a cookie when they detect a customer browsing a merchant's site.
  • Merchants ending up paying for bogus (undeserved) commissions
  • Puts an end to your revenue stream (unless discovered)
  • and other nasty things...

Your CEO may want to have that word trademarked. It a pretty decent new word and may be a defining terminology for this kind of malpracticing entities in the affiliate marketing industry. Say you may want to advertise your company as: NO PARASITEFILLIATES IN OUR NETWORK!

I think it may qualify for a trade mark since it is a distinctive sign of some kind which can be used by your business organization to uniquely identify your commitment to fair play in affiliate business, and to distinguish your affiliates from other networks.

Well, that is just my three cents...you may want to seek other people's opinion.

No, indeed! I even have posted to another forum (please check it out!) that parasites don't really play fair.

Parasitic Marketing, Prevention is BETTER than cure.

bullseyeram, good idea. We'll trademark it. But we want others to be able to use it freely, giving credit to AffiliateBOT, perhaps?

What's so dirty about Parasitefilliates is that they attack both sides of the industry. They cripple the affiliates, and they charge merchants for fraudulent commissions.

The truth is, Parasitefilliates work when they are unnoticed. The sad thing, before you know it, you've been robbed hundreds of your commissions.

Our network keeps you secured of that - AffiliateBOT absolutely parasitefilliate-free!

This problem on parasitefiliates (parasite + affiliates) had been tackled few years ago but as the technology becomes complicated, so does these kind of unscrupulous individuals. Lately, these parasitefiliates are gaining momentum and starting to rein havoc against unsuspecting and honest affiliates.
Its a good thing that this issue is addressed properly by AffiliateBOT. I hope bigger networks would follow suit and do concrete actions against them (not just issue statements).

The use of high tech software, such as spywares has increased the potential of parasite + affiliates, so affiliate networks should secure their network from the damaging result of these people.

Affiliates should choose a network that is parasite - FREE and would secure their accounts and their links.

A round of applause to parasite-FREE networks!

Affiliates that use some illegal means to acquire and steal other affiliate's earnings really deserve to be called PARASITES. Of course, being a victim of these Affiliate Marketing criminals is the least thing that you want to happen.
Sadly, technology is also being utilized to do these malicious acts.

Let's say NO TO PARASITEFFILITES!

This is a timely discussion for these kind of spywares and adwares. The cyberworld is waking up on risks of letting these malwares wreak havoc in our online transactions. Now, the US House of Congress has recently passed a bill to combat these malwares. Click here to see more discussions.
