Default A problem with opera

Despite a few nice tricks here and there, the Opera Web browser is an overall exercise in pain. Pages are often rendered incorrectly, or not at all. Its built-in help wasn't all that helpful, either. It took me a while to figure out how to get to my bookmarks, and I knew I was in trouble when Mac-specific instructions reference the ALT key.

I have been using Opera for quite sometime. I can say that the browser is generally fine though I experience occassional freezes when I access our intranet system. What I really like about it is that it "remembers". Saves you valuable time in case of power failure or when your computer hungs up! I was also told that it is less prone to viruses. Is that for real?

Mini, I agree with you that opera renders sites horribly. Somehow they don't look as good as IE.

Anything is less prone to viruses than IE.

I usually use FireFox but I must admit that overall Opera is faster and more secure. The zoom option is also really cool, and the mail reader is very useful too. I don’t know, I guess it just never really grew on me. The problem is that most sites are not compatible to Opera.

I also love the single key browsing. Maybe if it supported pluggins like FF I would use it more. For now I’m sticking with FF.

That's one of the many problems of Opera. In my experience, most sites don't really refresh no matter how you tick on the Refresh button. Also, when you use WhoIs of NetSol, you will get results at first but after a few more entries to WhoIS, you'll end up to no results found.
That is why, I'm sticking with IE.

Well only at some websites I have also read that the opera browser is the best for security , but seeing the so less of its popularity dont think its any worth use . i use the firefox and i think it does pretty well and i am happy with all the various kinds of extensions it has got . Opera has been criticized for not providing an architecture to add application extensions to the browser, although it does support User JavaScript (including Greasemonkey scripts) and Widgets.Opera supports User JavaScript extensions since version 8.
