Question Is it necessary to dedicate a post to your sponsors?

You've probably see this on some blogs. Once in a while they'll have a thank-you post with links to the list of sponsors on their site.

Obviously, any advertiser will be happy with the extra attention, but will this hurt your readership? If not how does it affect readership?

Only if you're a super blog like Gizmodo or TechCrunch, else the value your little site is providing is too little to overcome the slight annoyance of an ad post.

If you want to do that you should probably do a PAGE and not a post for the given reasons, assuming that you're using Wordpress.

Some of these posts are spam and they only redirect the attention of the readers to their sites. As long as you have anti spam filters on your blog, you can stay away from these blatant advertising.

It can really affect your readership instead let the readers stick to your site.
