Default Invest in Real Estate or Stocks???

I have some amount of earnings apart from the ones that I save for my necessities. I want the earnings invested in some real estate or may be in stocks. I do have some knowledge on stocks but, earlier my cousin had invested in the stocks and had a set-back. I know that you need to be updated in that but – What is a better option from the two???

Real Estate for sure... you can never lose, at least if you did your homework first..

Stocks are just paper money and you can lose all your capital overnight!

If you ask me, the stock market is one giant white collar legal scam.

There's deals in the UK where you can buy land that companies will buy back after a period. Short term cash but high profits.

This is almost 100% a scam!

www.propertyscam.org.uk

I have even been approached by a local company called Profitable Plots, which I think is using the same ol scam method.

They basically buy a plot of cheap land, then subdivide it many, many parts and sell it to you as an investment vehicle at a far, far higher price than they bought it with the promise that the land can be converted into a development title, but generally in 5-7 years, they'll fail to convert, and you'll be stuck with a lemon.. and they'll likely declare bankrupt, running away with your money.

If you want to invest, please buy your own properties and do your own research. Don't get scammed into all these land investment opportunties.

So.. they may even let a few people 'earn' a profit, and in turn, they will eagerly promote to friends and families and get loads of investors... which will eventually turn a loss. Scary.

I would say stocks. Right now both are not really a sure thing but real estate sucks right now. All 3 of my properties are in the dumps!

Had a friend who is seemingly making money from these land deals, although he hasn't cash out yet. The company always follow through with 'another great deal'.

Well in my suggestion you have to invest in real estate because in now a days the value of property is going on increasing. And we also have many other options to get good profit from it. And on the other hand now a days stock market suddenly goes down upto a great extend. So, there is slit risk in that. I had invested my money with a real estate investor. and was happy to hear that the investment was going the right way. There are good results in real estate and I believe that you should be investing in the same area.

Default Re:Invest in Real Estate or Stocks???

Why the disparity between perception and reality? While the 2000 stock market collapse is still fresh in people’s minds, you don’t hear much talk about how housing prices in the Northeast and California fell less than 15 years ago. Also, unlike your home’s price, the volatility of stocks can be viewed each day in the paper.

Default Real estate or stock: Which is the better investment?

These days, housing prices seem to know no bounds. And in a recent poll, eighty percent of Americans deemed real estate a safer investment than stocks (only 13 percent said stocks were safer). Yet the truth is that, over time, stock prices have risen more quickly than home values by a wide margin (NY Times).

If you are willing to buy a very blue chip stock and sit on it for 5 years then now is the time while the markets tank.

Real estate also has some great bargains but renting and selling are to bad plays as well at the moment. The ability to buy and hold in either market is the key at this time.

I run my own real estate forum at www.magicbullets.com where 5000 real estate investors stop by to dispense wisdom on this topic.
