What happens when Steve Jobs goes?

Investors are once again troubled by rumours of the Apple chief's health. Some are selling in fear of stock prices plunging if bad news surfaces soon.

What would you do if you were a shareholder? Do you think the loss of a CEO can be that significant?

Are you kidding? Apple ruled the world when Steve Jobs was around, then plummetted when it's shareholders kicked him out.. and then is on it's way to rulling the world again with Steve Jobs at the helm.

So, yeah, the CEO matters a lot!

Yup, really big companies have additional burdens because they have the hardest to achieve or maintain goal, which is.... 'Be Number 1'. I think big companies have 3 levels that matters. The upper management that makes the decisions, ideas and vision, the middle management that makes the vision come true and the other employees that do their respective work.

I think Apple is the exception. Most CEOs don't have the influence that Jobs has.

Not true. The CEO will have the influence if he works hard!

Most CEOs once they get the position are only thinking about going on yacths, throw big parties for friends, etc..

When a CEO works hard, goes around the floor, checking on things, etc, then he matters.. else, he's just a figurehead!
