I'm canvassing for a much cheaper webhosting pack

I'm currently learning how to become a webmaster. I need suggestions as to what's the best cheapest webhosting pack I can purchase. Do you know of any (based on personal experience)? Any feedback, recommendations, tips will be greatly appreciated.

Thus far I've had three domains with two web hosting companies, and have found my experiences hugely dissatisfactory. Like you, I needed a budget hosting solution, so my first host was tierranova.com (now shut down, and no wonder!).

The second was hostdepartment.com, which despite the awards pasted over its site, is v e r y slow and gave me no end of trouble when they were trying to shift my site over to another server for maintenance purposes. The only good thing it has going for it is the price, which isn't too bad for a .Net package.

I'm about to set up my fourth and fifth sites on exabytes.com, which was recommended to me by a friend who has his own website hosted there. He's had no problems thus far and the price is quite reasonable. If you can wait, I'll let you know how that goes!

I agree. I've asked 1and1.com to host mine, and it was cool. I don't have any reason to change, but stick on it. The best part is their 24/7 support. You can't go wrong.
