Marketing through social media channels can be rewarding, but also challenging. But the key is to make a great product as opposed to setting a high reward to spread the word. If the product is cool enough, news of it will spread like wildfire naturally.

You need to truly understand viral marketing to make it work on social networks. I have seen some spectacular successes. For example, someone made a video about driving a BMW off a ramb in london and tries to fly it into the ocean and that got a lot of buzz and attention on YouTube...

You just been to be creative to make the social media work for you.

Also, it can be quite targeted nowadays. You can target a particular country or location.

Yeh it targeting random traffic but it could be good for adsense and CPC add publisher

hmm, but then adsense displays ads according to the keywords of the web page. If it was displaying ads according to the each visitor's social network profile, then probably it'll be really something.... but it's not.

Then, is there a way to display different ads to different visitors, determined by what is described in their profile (like their facebook profile?). Then again, only facebook themselves can offer ads like these.

Adsense also target based on geo-location. So, if google determines it can't really work with the content on your site, it'll likely display ads that advertisers have specified to geo location.
