Default Choose your own Affiliate Program Type

For an affiliate rookie to be little closer to the affiliate marketing success, it is significant that he chooses the affiliate progrma type that best boost the appeal of his site to drive more traffic. The following are some of the widely used affiliate program set-ups:

1. Pay-per-sale- It is also termed as Patnership or Percentage Sharing. In this type, only the legitimate and sure sales are given the commission.
2. Pay-per-lead- This gives you earnings everytime you recruit a costumer or visitor to sign-up a registration form, fill out a survey or request a quote from the mechant.
3. Pay-per-click- This set-up gives you commission every time the visitor clicks on the leads or links of the merchant's website.

Choosing what affiliate program type to use is a factor that influences the amount of traffic driven in your site and the conversion rate of this said traffic. You should put in mind that the program type that you wil work on and the product that you will be promoting is related to the subject of your website. Doing this will increase the amount of targeted traffic visiting your site.

Pay per click are lesser as compared to the pay per sale and lead. I know that the adultfriendfinder website pays per click . I have a friend who has a blog on movie gossips and she has put up the link banner of adultfriend fider on that , she earns a good 150$ without conversions and jsut for the clicks she gets on the banner . they pay 2 cents per banner click .

Default Pay-Per-Referral model

Affiliate marketing encompasses a variety of different commission models, mostly the “pay on a per-sale model” and many use a “pay-per-lead model”, where commissions are paid even if a sales isn't made or when the product is given away free. Large networks have arisen using the “pay-per-click model,” with some even supporting “pay-per-impression (CPM)” model. Other programs combine several of these models to create “hybrid, dual-income programs”.

There is another model, a “pay-per-referral model” has also come up, which at the first glance may look a lot like a “pay-per-click program”. However, they are different models with the former being more unique and lucrative.

In “pay-per-referral model” programs, you do not receive a commission when your visitors click through from your site to a particular site (say http://www.xxx.com) web site. Instead, you earn commissions when a visitor you refer to http://www.xxx.com performs a search for a product, and then clicks through to one (or more) of the merchant sites. In other words, you earn commissions when you refer a visitor via http://www.xxx.com to their partner merchants.

Default Advantages of the “Pay-Per-Referral” Method

It has two benefits which makes it even more lucrative than a standard standard pay-per-click program.

a) Firstly, you receive a commission for each click the visitor generates. For example, if the visitor performs a search for a particular movie, and then clicks through to 4 different merchants in the http://www.xxx.com, to check their prices and ordering options, you would earn total commissions for each merchant visited, as follows:

(Commission offered by the http://www.xxx.com site) multiplied by (total no. of merchants visited)

b) Secondly, when you refer a visitor to http://www.xxx.com, they are permanently marked as your referral. So, if they come back to http://www.xxx.com, you earn more commissions for each click through they generate to a merchants. Thus, you earn follow-up commissions., even if the visitor you had referred to never visits your site again.

The above can be seen in DealPilot.com site and the Affinia (which is still in the beta stage)

In summary, the “pay-per-referral method” is potentially lucrative as you can receive multiple 'click-through' commissions for referring just one visitor, while with standard “pay-per-click”, you earn one commission for each unique visitor that clicks through to a site.

It can be stated that with “pay-per-referral” you may not earn anything from the visitor you referred, if they don't follow through and investigate a few other merchant sites. However, you can can earn a lot if they click-through to many merchants as they shop online.
