Default Regarding Cookies...

On transactions being done on-line, it is necessarry for affiliates and merchants to have an idea about the continuity of the agreement of payments to be done, or in other words, the payment period, because of this web developers considered the concept of cookies.

Cookies are files that simply unlock a computer's memory and allow a website to recognize users when they return to a site, by opening doors to different content.

There has been a lot of online misconception regarding cookies, some people utter to say that, cookies are a threat to computer security, because it could be a gateway for others to see your recent mail and other important files. But to set it straight, the misconception is definitely not true.

Rather they are used to track affiliate sites, they are in forms like 30, 60, 90 days other networks have lifetime which consists of 365 days. These types were usable for online payments and commission, if let us say your cookie is for 60 days and your contact replied within 3 months, you'll never get the commission. That is the logic that I am pertaining to.

Thanks a lot, and enjoy the rest of the day!

A tug of war is going on between affiliates and everybody else over the business of cookies. And as the cookie crumbles, affiliates are losing out because of users disabling and deleting their cookies, because of short expiration times (if cookies are being used at all), and because of other anti-cookie forces of nature.

The above pertains to marketing cookies, which check out the visitors’ personal preferences. They are like marketing samples collected for further research or improvements. Those samples do not see who the people were, but instead see what they liked/saw/preferred etc.

Like wise, cookies collect information on your preferences (visited sites/pages, advertisements clicked on etc.) and not your personal information (name, email, etc.). They help the marketers and advertisers to know which advertisements are popular and target the visitors with related advertisements.

They can also help in checking “click fraud” as it can know whether out of 100 clicks, different people clicked or a group clicked it a number of times.

Default The Cookie Problem

Cookies are obviously important to affiliate marketers

The amazon lesson [Cookie lasts only a day] has steered me towards trying to generate an immediate sale.

The other way around cookies is to capture your prospects email address and then you can re market to them later.

Of course there are and always will be affiliate thieves who click your link, identify the target site and then clear your cookies before making a purchase. Heaven knows why people behave like this but unfortunately they are an ever present nuisance
