Hello, I just registered and would have read many of the posts and think they are very informative. I have a websites and wondering if anyone could help me out in increasing sales (by better SEO, obviously). Any advice is greatly appreciated. Any recommendations on getting guaranteed placement companies that WORK and are not spammers is also appreciated.

SEO is mostly about creating lots of high value backlinks.

Stay away from Guaranteed placement companies, no one can guarantee you top placement in any search engine unless they use pay per click which you can do yourself. Anyone who guarantee you placement is lying and so not worth doing business with. My advice is to take a look at my sign few methods available for achieving prominent placement on the search engines, such as Organic Search Engine Optimization and Sponsored First Page Placement.

Always shoot for organic traffic and never pay a SEO company to optimize your website. Either read some webmaster forums/blogs or pick up some other information source and learn how to build backlinks and optimize your own pages and you will see massive amounts of "free" traffic that is highly targeted.

One of the best things I can recommend is play with your text till you get a higher SE placementand get prominant backlinks to your site, sites linking to you with a higher PR is always good to help keep you on it.

One of the strongest tools is the "meta description" Google doesn't really look at the "meta keywords" as it scan your site for the way you use your teat and will pull the keywords from that. "Meta decription" tells in summery what your site is about so put your keywords in there as much as possible.

Don't rely on those guaranteed placement companies. They only work for yo and can generate rankings (and placements) only for a short time. If your ranking plunges, you may need them again but for more money from your side of course, that is not good.

On your own knowledge in doing SEO, you can have it day in and day out as many and as long as you want. If you perfected these things like link building, social networking and placement, you can have a long term income.
