Default More stats - Shop.org 2008 Online Retail Report
You know, Shop.org just released a 2008 report regarding the state of online retail. It provides details on online profitability, marketing and merchandising.

Retail sales seems to have grown 17% to $204 billion.

Numerous topics which seems to indicate what online retailers will be interested in spending their budget on. With mentions on social networking (more for branding than drive actual sales) and widgets.

Search engine marketing account for 35% of sales.
