Default Short Term profits VS Long-term Personal Brand and a strong voice in the industry

Affiliates may many times dream of the quick buck. Afterall, there are many who are working day jobs and can't wait to quit their jobs and do this full time. Some look at it as hope for them to work at home and start making good changes to their lives. Truly with the beginning of a new year, affiliate marketing can be viewed as a tool to start on a journey in hopes of a better year or at least lay a foundation for future years.

While affiliate may take many different paths to reach their goals, some doing it full-time, some part-time, some slowly while others launching many sites at once, some affiliates will look only to the short term.

As a result, it may look something like this, where the affiliate will spam and deceptive tricks to try to generate as much referral leads/sales as possible. I appreciate ReveNews.com posting a detail article on this and we can certainly learn alot from it.

One question comes to mind:-
If you're an affiliate, would you go for short term but bigger commissions OR would you value your reputation, make a brand of YOURSELF and establish in the long run as a trusted authority in the industry?

Clearly one path provides a bigger potential than the other.

It's always a risk trying to spam and cheat affiliate networks, but at the end of the day, all you'll get is a banned account and revoked commissions.

Yup especially with Affiliatebot's stringent security measures and tough on fraud protocols. A good and long standing reputation opens up doors to even higher commissions and establishing closer and more profitable relationships with merchant/advertisers.
