Just watched it. Superb!!! I like the Joker very much. I find the evil clown persona very amusing. After all these years, he's still the ring leader of the bad guys, and still the most brilliant.

Grim Joker is definitely more suited to the movie than Loopy Joker. I think the first Joker was more of the Golden Age classical joker. This one is more contemporary although it has the real world feel to it. I wonder how they'll try to spin it. So far the new line of batman movies try to do away with magic powers and superhuman abilities.

Joker is such an appealing character because you can expect him to do the unexpected with no inhibitions, no confusion, just pure clarity of doing whatever he wants. No boundaries. Plus the good guys don't kill, the system protects the insane and the bad guys are scared silly of what will happen to them if they fail to kill him and he comes back with a vengeance.

I like the Justice League joker because it's a cartoon and they can draw him ideally as a clown, especially his face.

Actually I like his crew of baddies, who look like they came out of this fantasy horror themepark novel. Classic.

Oh yeah, to add, I think Joker's popularity is although due to him being able to give some serious payback to the heroes from time to time. With him, there are many times when the good guys don't win, and the good guys get crippled, whacked, killed, tortured and at times, even get the good guys to kill their own friends.
