I don't think this is accurate. For starters, I don't wake up everyday thinking of creating a new design, though it will happen every few months, or if the need arises. As for the other activities, it would take 3-4 hours a day at most. Of course, someone doing this full time will have to put more time in. But the thing that scares me is that as you grow bigger, you can never put it down, unless you hire people help you out.

Ooh...sounds like hard work. But I think if you're good with computers and stuff it wouldn't seem like it.

Yup, every extra positive thing you add to your blog will be felt by everyone visiting your site. Same goes when you slacken and fail to deliver your regular posts or 'exciting features (exiciting reviews, 'indirect promotion of merhant's products, top ten lists, etc)', the drop in quality will also affect your readers. With so many things to do I find it easier if when you start, you implement some time management system and a solid plan to outsource & (for those tyrants that force their spouses or family into blog slavery) delegate. So having a pool of fairly cheap but dependable writers will be important. It's the same technique, how to multiply time without dropping quality.
