Default Original, Reporting & Contributed Content

Ever wonder how much of a content in a 'top' blog is actually original. Well, read an article regarding an analysis of problogger.net. And from it it seems that about half of it is actually 'original' while the rest goes to 'reporting' where the focus of content is on another blog/website and it's articles, and lastly 'contributed' content where someone else writes it. In this analysis of the month of October, almost 100 articles were generated.

What can be learn from this analysis? How to do it like the pros?

1) Pump out lots of articles. How? Quick methods like reporting on other articles/sites and collaborate with others. Also, who knows how many writers 'writes' on behalf of Mr. Darren?

2) Write content that is of value to readers. You get good stuff from problogger. Quick solution - hire good writers.

3) At some point of your 'blogging career', it's gonna require you to switch from part time to full time to reach higher levels of growth.

Ofcourse, you still have to grow in writing your own content so that you can come up with something original and to have a level of control over the general direction of your blog and it's overall material. Some bloggers outsource most of the writing and it lacks that distinct personality to it. Yet, somewhere down the road, almost everyone will hire writers (who can argue with the benefits of more time? Time is afterall more precious than the money paid)
