You gotta hand it to the guy. This offer is really 'smart'. It's about maximizing marketing results utilizing the most cost-effective method.

• Start a competition
• Prize is a 'service'. Redesign your website. The price of the service is $799 and it's by really establed web designers.
• By creating a buzz, and even by providing the service for free, they will still get an additional website to showcase.
• Create a buzz big enough, and everybody will want to see the before and after results. Especially the losers of the competition who wonders what they missed.
• In fact, the losers might be so impressed that they may decide to buy the service.
• Isn't it convenient (or intentional) that the participants are intended to be website owners/bloggers.

Only hope that they're not giving the prize to one of their 'associates' cuz who knows? There's no one to regulate this. So at least:-

• Promise a thorough explanation as to why the winner won
• Utilize neutral third-party judges. If it's the organizer then...
