Cool Anti-Fraud Strategies for PPC

There's no doubt that Pay per click (PPC) advertising can be a very profitable and cost-effective way to drive targeted visitors to your site.

But there are a lot of problems inherent in pay per click, like getting into bidding wars, but the growing concern these days for top notch online search engine service providers and affiliate networks like Google and AffiliateBot is PPC Fraud.

It has come to our observation that some publishers would go any length to commit fraud to achieve what id like to call " Sinister Payouts". Although one must take into consideration the fact that some of your rivals carry out this "Clicks for Spite" Schemes too. ( Never Mind Platos Terms) but hey, this is reality!!

We must realize that that there some sophisticated syndicates that create complex robots to generate thousands of clicks, while spoofing IP addresses in order to fleece their advertisers and avoid detection. But one thing for sure the AffBot Team is constantly on the look out for "CyberUrchins" and Crime Syndicates like these.

You can be sure we will get you, we are ahead of the game. Big Brother AB is Watching.

So keep a date with us on this thread as we promise to keep you updated on strategies for combating this growing menace.

PPC is on its way out because of this problem. Does affiliatebot offer ppc program? I didn't realize that.

PPC in Affiliatebot? PPC Fraud? Can't have PPC Fraud in Affiliatebot when we don't have PPC programs. Affiliatebot's network focuses heavily on fraud prevention and conducts highly stringent checks on Merchant and Affiliate activity alike to protect both parties.

Paying for a successful sale. Now doesn't that sound more secure.

there are many measures to counter ppc fraud, like ip tracking to limit the amount of repeated clicks. and Adsense, which is the world's largest PPC program, contributes to the majority of Google's revenue. so i wouldn't give up on ppc just yet.

PPC has its risks, especially if its promoted by an email list affiliate or an incentivised site. This is because they can then bypass the limits set on the site . That's why the industry frowns upon incentivisation sites. I wouldn't be signing up with one anytime soon.

People will try anything and everything when you give them the big opportunity to scam you. It's alot of work and resources to dedicate in monitoring PPA transactions. I can't imagine the load needed for PPC. Part of the problem is that it's very hard to verify or prove PPC fraud and the arguments, complaints, wrongly accused cases pile up in the effort to regulate PPC commissions.

Then again, why would a merchant prefer PPC over PPA?
