It seems that affiliate marketing in the UK has taken a foothold. More and more merchants there are spending good money promoting through affiliate channels. Some of them a taking it seriously enough to hire strong affiliate departments and reserving attention to this new avenue to grow their business. Now we have to realize that not only is this trend growing but spreading elsewhere. Soon we will have a legitimate specialty on our hands. Next would be college programs dedicated to to this subject.

Affiliate Marketing is good. I think 90% of websites now carry at least one kind of affiliate marketing ad, either voluntarily or otherwise.
CPL is good for affiliates, not merchants. CPA is good for merchants, not affiliates. |

Yeah, a new field, a new subject in computer studies. Eventually, more and more people will start blogs/websites and participate in affiliate marketing and placing ads on them. When colleges are teaching and training students to excel in this, it would make affiliate marketing an even greater channel for advertising and generating referral sales. That said, eventually will have a whole bunch of affiliates with generic ads that will not peform well and those that go the distance in getting ads to perform will stand out and generate better income.
There's alot more people who will adopt the internet and with deaths and births, you'll always have fresh people to advertise to and to sell products to. There's alot more people who have yet but will adopt the internet. We haven't reach the maximum, so advertising sales will continue to grow rapidly. If you're not into affiliate marketing then consider that you're missing out on a revenue generating channel whose potential continues to grow rapidly.

Affiliate Marketing is not new. Offline, there are many jobs, especially in sales that pay based on performance. So in a sense, affiliate marketing is that same model, ported to the internet.

It's become highly affordable to conduct affiliate marketing especially with total solutions, where the Affiliatebot team does most of the setup and work for you. To grow a business, you'd expect to utilise more channels to increase sales and unlike other high risk, expensive and time consuming channels, affiliate marketing with the right network having the right fraud prevention, transaction monitoring, approval of affiliates, it'll save you considerable time and reduce the risks involved.

Good point to note. College students.... hmmmmm. Perhaps not so much as focus on their revenue generation but more to generating a long-term relationship with these individuals. Of course, targeting those that are top performers.
Maybe portion a small portion of your activities in just getting targeted business or It business students to promote your affiliate program. Perhaps giving them a step by step to start a site related to your affiliate program, how to get good and consistent content in it and how best to promote your products/services using your creatives with suggestions on other methods. Hook them while they're young? And get them to stay by being the one that offers the closest support and the most tools and resources for them to continue making money? Wild ideas but you never know how far it'll go.

College students who have not even ventured out to the working environment will not only learn valuble business sense but will arm themselves with knowledge otherwise would only be learnt long after they graduate. Since they spend more time with thier pc at school and in their free they would be naturals.
I don't think they will up and leave a money making venture soon as they graduate. Who would? Once they have a jump start there is no way they would kill a cash cow. Makes sense? |
