Default How important are business cards to you?

Business cards are an extension of your brand and company. So I think they're one of the most important tools in business. Question is, to what extend are you willing to go when creating a business card?

How much are you willing to spend?
Are you willing to pay a designer to do it for you?
Are you willing to pay extra for premium paper?
Are you willing to pay more for fancy shapes?

I think a glossy plate printed card is good enough, and if necessary a touch of Spot UV lamination for effect. Design wise I'd go for a minimalist design, with the company logo, name and phone number in a prominent position.

How much is a business card worth to you?

Business cards for many cases are mainly good for getting the other guy's name card by exchanging, so that you can continue to approach him/her for more business.

Though helps your business to gain more exposure, it's best to get the 'potential' customer's business card and pro-actively sell to the customer.

It's a tool to establish business relationships. Although for good first impressions, I'd prefer the business card to 'catch' attention so that it helps them to remember as well as to get a conversation started about it. (talk more, remember me more).

I agree they're very important, but somehow, I don't find myself giving a lot away. Anyone else has a stash of unused business cards lying around too?

Plain and informative. I don't need to hire a designer for that. It's just a card, your personality what you need to work on more.

I've seen some with letters or logos embossed, those are equally attractive. But I think it's what you say and put on it that matters, and your wit will greatly elevate your brand.

Default Business Card Impressions

Every business card tells a story and I came across an interesting article as to the negative kind of impressions your business card might say about you. We may keep it simple and sometimes simple is good because it eliminates adding features or little designs into a the card that might provide the wrong effect.

Take a look at this article The Business of Business Cards and you'll get a funny scenario that is yet all so true.

Besides the print design, even the color, paper that is used, the corners, etc sends out a message. Take the below article as an example.

What Does Your Business Card Say About You?

I've also read Tephus' msnbc article and that is one expensive card but I like the fact that it not only became a conversation starter and has a high retention rate but that the people keeping it were considering it as some kind of 'treasure'. You just know they're gonna show it to a bunch of their friends. Perhaps if you have a business that may be relevant to the general public and goes for wide exposure, then maybe this card then justifies it's cost.
