![]() It's no secret Apple's launching new iPods next week. Among the speculated releases are an iPod Touch (iPhone like with full touchscreen), and the infamous Fat Nano. I think there'll be an upgrade for the Shuffle as well, probably increased storage capacity and lowered prices. Another huge leap is the probability of the iPods running on Mac OS X, which features an OS X themed menu and maybe Wifi for song sharing a la Zune. But one thing's for sure, prices will drop or at the most remain the same. ![]()

ipods, mp3 players and stuff though popular, I still don't see it everywhere enough. Only at work or in the train or when they're alone. It's like a waiting companion. So ideal to market to insecure individuals or loners?

Ok so we've seen the new iPods. Very much like you predicted. But can anyone tell me what's the point to the iPod touch? It has almost no advantages over the iPhone, other than a bigger memory.
I'm sticking with an iPhone. |

In a business sense, they are providing a variety in the range of their products for different customer needs. Those that have limited budget, with an existing phone and not wanting to change phones, there should be a pretty large portion of the market for that.
Which is why all the different ipods, nanos and iphones available. What's good is that finally, the fatpod is here and it provides video! Truly a missing link that will increase sales tremendously.

iphone prices slashed by $200? Early adopters getting to feel like suckers. Well, businesses are about maximizing profits. With this type of product, and the hyped up marketing, clearly they knew that they were gonna be able to get away with it. That there would be a great initial demand for it.
When they make an 'improved' iPhone in a few months, I wonder if the early adopters will continue 'early adopting'?

No, Apple are giving rebates ($100 i think) to early adopters who got the iPhone at $599. Of course, the catch is that, it'll come in the form of a coupon, which you can exchange for more Apple products. So the money stays in the company.

I have a nano that I use on my daily jog. It's been great. Don't really need video anyways.
