With more people blogging, the possibilities are...?

I wonder what the world would be like if 30% of the world population has their own blogs. Now that blogs are easy to set up, with advantages that include monetization and the rise of social networking, I'd expect more and more people to be setting up their own sites and blogs and stuff. What doors will that open to?

Perhaps in the future, your Facebook account will be part of your national identity. And you can read updates on your ID. So a cop who pulls you over will know where you've been, your hobbies, and whether or not you're a raging alcoholic.

Hmmm, that's an interesting future... If governments insist that everybody have a profile/blog/facebook/etc online, although that will really raise privacy issues. Unless it becomes a norm and people are judged to be 'better/nobler/more valuable' with such a profile, perhaps becoming a norm in jobseeking where employers would value the transparency and the detail history info provided by the jobseeker.

Everybody have many things to hide that they can't reveal to the public. If we ever see a person for who he really is, everything laid out, categorized and cataloged, activities quantified... would we be able to stand the truth? Is there a limit to how much we can stand knowing about a person?
