Vista selling faster than XP did
MICROSOFT CLAIMS that it sold more than 20 million Windows Vista licences in the first month the new operating system hit the shops.
A spokesVole told Reuters that this was more than twice the rate of Windows XP which only managed to hit the 17 million mark after two months.
This is in line with what Microsoft's shy and retiring softly spoken chief executive Steve Ballmer had predicted before the release of Vista.
However, Ballmer is now whispering that forecasts for revenue from Windows Vista in fiscal 2008 are "overly aggressive" and no-one will dare say he is wrong.
