My Boss Is An Alcoholic?

There's a bar just 2 streets away from our office, I am actually just starting from work and my boss keeps on taking me there. He buys me drinks and all for free. I am just wondering if this is just normal or he is just testing me?

Megatron, I have experienced that too. In fact, your boss may just be very friendly, down-to-earth person, as a matter of fact. I can't see the point of him testing you. Why does your boss have to do that, in the first place? It could be that your boss doesn't want to go alone and he wanted to have your company. Hmmm. I was just wondering, does your boss also offer other people in your work place? If not, there must be something of personal reasons. I wonder what could that be?

We can't really judge your boss based on that. It is possible that he is just helping you to be at ease and taking you to those places is one of the things to do it. He may also want to let you feel that you can build a friendly relationship other than the professional. But we can't also take away the probabilty that this is another assessment that you have to undergo to prove yourself. But whatever his reasons are, you have to have a stand. Don't accompany him just to please him. It's a non-work related stuff and you still have the final say.

Megatron, I guess your boss is just friendly and wanted to touch base on you. When a boss is friendly, it doesn't mean that he is pushy. If you don't feel like going out with him, you can always say no. I'm sure he'll understand!
