Xerox announced its entry into the search market this week with FactSpotter, document search software that is claimed to go beyond conventional keyword search.
FactSpotter is text mining software that combines a linguistic engine that allows users to make queries in everyday language. FactSpotter looks for the keywords contained in a query along with the context those words have. According to Xerox, FactSpotter is capable of combing through almost any document regardless of the language, location, format or type; take advantage of the way humans think, speak and ask questions; and discriminate the results highlighting just a handful of relevant answers instead of returning thousands of unrelated responses. more at TechCrunch...

Search engines are expected to have a huge database along side its directories. We have to take into considerations that most search engines do not really have their databases which make them override to other search systems. I would want to site AOL for example. AOL overrides its search results through Google, in which we can't really say that AOL is a search engine. In the case of XEROX, I wonder if they have already built their own database, otherwise, will they be getting the services of other giant search engines available such as Google or Yahoo or search results on their own?
Anyhow, it's great to know that more and more search engines are joining the bandwagon in the industry, which proves that SEO is really paving its roads in the industry. |

Well till now , I think that google displays the best results . I don't mean that it displays plenty , but the relevancy of the search results with what is searched , i mean the keywords is just so great . I can say that from some of the searches that i make and google has displayed the most accuracy in those searches . plus some of the searches in other search engines have displayed zero results sometimes , but google always has something to offer . So i hope that xerox achieves that level of accuracy .
