Graphics in your website
Yahoo! Search Marketing has just included a small column in its March newsletter, that teaches web designers five ways to improve graphics and imagery.
1. Make graphics as relevant to your message as possible and keep them to a reasonable size.
2. Use repeating background or cell patterns to add interest to your page without adding load time.
3. Optimize your images for the Web using a program such as Adobe Photoshop.
4. Break images into smaller pieces to help pages load faster.
5. Save images in the most suitable file type. Images with many colors usually work best as JPEGs. Images with few colors are best saved as GIFs.
