I think a blog is a good platform to start.

+You don't have to worry about designs. Just choose a template and you're set. This is better than getting a free website template because then you'd still have to install it into your site yourself. Or hire someone to do it for you.

+It's very easy to post. You don't need any HTML knowledge.

+You have full access to customize your blog. Now you can insert banners on your sidebars etc. Of course, it helps if your blog contents are related to the ads your displaying.

+Best of all, it's free. Of course, you could get your own url and link it to the blog, so you only pay for the address and not the hosting and bandwidth as well.

i also agree. i think a blog would be a good way to start for some depending on your business (especially if you have little to no knowledge of html and web sites).

A landing page where the design, images, content and functions are geared to selling.... one product. If you have to promote more than one, then create a separate landing page for each. Best to choose your best sellers.

I agree that blogs are the best way to start an affiliate program. No hassle of cracking your skull to fix the HTML codes. Plus, the social networking and RSS features of most blogging sites make it easier for your to bring out the word about your business. Best of all, they're free.

Wordpress, Blogger, Joomla. Anyone of these can get a newbie started since they're user friendly with suffiecient help/documentation/forum help, to coach anyone towards running a well-maintained site.
