An Apple Powered Mercedes Benz

A German Magazine is reporting that Apple and Mercedes Benz have signed a deal whereby Apple will design an in-car maintenance, communication and navigation system for inclusion in Mercedes Benz vehicles from 2009.

Mercedes will have exclusive rights to the new Apple in-car system for 6 months. The article speculated as to whether the Apple system will rely on Google Maps as the iPhone does, however no firmer details were available.

Given the small form factor of the Mini Mac, it’s not a stretch to imagine a similar sized OS X powered unit being built into vehicles. Despite Microsoft’s move into coffee tables and the kitchen there has been no serious effort so far to deliver Windows into vehicles, giving Apple a relatively competitor free marketplace.

That's indeed a poweful partneship of two giants in their respective fields. I bet all the car fanatics will go ga-ga over this latest release. It won't also surprise me if this will cost million dollars. I can only have this in my dreams.

great news , apple now to power the mercedes . Some websites say that it is a rumour more than anything else . The rumor comes from a German magazine called “Focus” which claims that starting in 2009, the new navigation system used in Mercedes will be designed by Apple.According to several sources, Apple will debut the navigation market for cars with their recent deal with Mercedes.
But all in all , this is surely a very awaited one and it is already drawing huge attention .
