Finding the right advertiser

I am running into many affiliate programs and portals offering me high revenue share programs, but it's hard to know who to trust.

My website is also based on education, so I do not want any crazy banners offering products that do not revolve around my clients.

Which one of these affiliate portal directors that offer help do you recommend or should I simply sign up with Google and go through Google Adsense?
