Default DirectX10 is back on WindowsXp...a.k.a. Alky Project

A move according to Pallab.net by the Alky Project people was to bering back Direct X 10 to the windows Xp, Linux and to the other popular operating systems.

This is to stop the probable move of Microsoft Corporation of just putting Direct X10, which is required for gaming applications to the new Windows Vista. The project would be acting as a source proxy for the APIs (Application Programming Interfaces) to further give chances to use the feature to their computer's operating system. A smart move by Alky, right?

Should i say good news ?Alky has released a preview of his DirectX 10 compatibility libraries. These libraries allow the use of DirectX 10 games on platforms other than Microsoft Vista, and increase hardware compatibility even on Vista, by compiling Geometry Shaders down to native machine code for execution where hardware isn't capable of running it. No longer will you have to upgrade your OS and video card(s) to play the latest games! The current preview allows you to run a number of examples from the DirectX SDK on Windows XP.
