No need to mention websites and niche markets. Just a good estimate on how much you think SEO is helping you earn in your affiliate marketing efforts?
================== Now my follow up question will be have you tried PPC as well for your affiliate marketing campaigns? Which one gives you a better conversion? Organic or PPC? ================== Now another follow up question, although conversion is not equal to your ROI, which is your revenue minus your cost including your advertising cost which is also your PPC budget. Lets say PPC gives you more sales, but it might also give you more advertising cost. Which one gives you a better ROI? SEO or PPC? I'm just interested in these questions so I can plan out well how I am going to play my affiliate marketing campaigns. |

PPC can be both an easy or a hard way. If your budget's sky's the limit, then doing paid search is easy peasy, although you have to consider ROAS as compared to your commission. Another thing is the competition. It's not just competing in a single niche with various advertisers catering various products, but it's a way of competing to a single niche with various advertisers catering the same product (or say, advertising the same affiliate site).
I guess it's a matter of doing both. Making your own landing page linking to the affiliate site and optimizing organically may be more economical but doesn't produce instant results. But, in your case, I think you can pull it off quickly. :P If you're on budget, try optimizing pages organically (which you can really do at ease ). If you wanna walk to the paid search path, try making a separate landing page that'll link to the affiliate site instead of linking directly to such. I've tried clickbank before using paid search. I was having a hard time finding a niche that doesn't have the same advertiser pointing directly to the niche's affiliate site. It's really a hard time though, specially if the ad is pioneering and well-established. :P Last edited by imroanne; 05-24-2007 at 11:29 PM. |

that's too low.
You should be finding another lucrative job that matches your efforts.I suggest if you have a penchant for writing, you can put up a blog yourself. Or find an affiliate program and start promoting it via blog. Through blogging, you can earn in many ways: Traffic/Conv from Paid(PPC) and Organic Search, Direct Hits (Brand/Web site Familiarity due to Web site exposure), Forums, Linked Sites/Articles/Press Releases, Advertisers or Google Adsense. There are a lot of avenues to choose from. It's matter of picking the best niche for you and start writing compelling ads and content.

Write some articles and put it on directories that google definitely LOVES. Such as Squidoo (probably you would have known this). Then you could try all types of SEO techniques that will result your lens to be on the first page of the google results. Social bookmarking, write articles and link it to the lens.. everything like that, Of course, you'll need to find a good, long-tail, converting keywords which has little competition. Since squidoo DOMINATES, probably you could earn a first page listing for optimized searches (searches with quotes eg = "buy cheap flowers online") with 10,000 results. Try it. I actually made a sale from clickbank through this method
