Start with HTML Primer at HTML Goodies. This 7 part tutorial is a great introduction to HTML. At the end of the tutorial you will be building your own basic web pages. The course can be digested over 7 days, or as much as you can handle in one day.

Once you have finished the HTML Primer, check out the HTML & GRAPHICS TUTORIALS links located on the left side of the page.

Another great resource for learning HTML is W3Schools. The website features HTML tutorials, quizzes, and references. Once you have mastered the basic tutorials, you can jump over to the advanced tutorials and learn even more about HTML.

I personally find www.w3schools.com one of the best places to start learning HTML - and a whole variety of other scripting languages as well, for the more advanced. Excellent tutes that provide a good base for you to build upon.

HTML, I belive, is the basic foundation of web building. Consider the facts that most of the internet programmers have all started in learning HTML prior to delving deeper in other platforms. I personally build my homepages using HTML and integrate JavaScript and PHP with it. Cool!!!

BTW, thanks for the info. Most of the newbies are not really familiar on how to start with HTML, and the URLs that Roman gave are really essentials. Thanks.
